What is Nok Commander?

• Manage your cellular phone from your PC using a GUI interface.
• Phone Book, SMS, Calendar, Custom Ringing Tone, Graphics and Logos, Net Monitor, Profiles

Registration:

• To register, please include the cellular phone's IMEI code and other information.
• On the Nokia cellular phone, you can key in *#06# to get the IMEI code (15 digits)

• When a new version is available you can use the Upgrade function to upgrade the program.
• Connect to the net, and connect the cellular phone to the computer.

• If you cannot use the Internet to upgrade(ie. You share the same COM port between the phone and the modem), contact us.
• You can proceed to the installation procedure below with the IMEI code and the registration code.

Installing the program:

• Please choose the software to be installed:
• Nok Commander 8000
• Nok Commander
• Installing Nok Commander 8000
• Before installing the software you must have the IrDA device installed
• Install the device according to the IR manual. You can check the FAQ.
• Execute the Installation file and follow the instructions.
  • Set the directory in which the files will reside.
  • The default is "C:\Program Files\Nok Commander 8000"
  • Set the program group name
  • The default is "Nok Commander 8000"
• Running for the first time:
• Execute Nok Commander 8000
• Input the registration code (Trial Version can skip this step)
• Main menu "Help"->"Registration"
• In the "Registration Data" area type in the IMEI code, registration code, and miscellaneous.
• Push "Add" button to register.
• Push "Save" button to save.
• If you want to delete a registration code, just right-click on the item and select "delete" from the pop up menu.
• When installation and setup is complete, please consult Basic Operation
• Installing Nok Commander
• Before installation you must have installed the cable or the IrDA device:
• Using cable.
• Connect the cable to the COM port.
• Using infrared device.
• Install according to the IR manual. You can check the FAQ.
• Using an internal IrDA device with Windows 98.
• Install according to the IR manual, and change some configuration. Check the FAQ.
• Terminate any other program that uses the same serial port.
• I.e.: IR monitor, NDS, 3com Palm driver, ... etc.
• Execute the Installation file and follow the instructions.
• Set the directory in which the files will reside.
• The default is "C:\Program Files\Nok Commander"
• Set the program group name
• The default is "Nok Commander"
• Running for the first time:
• Run Nok Commander
• Input the registration code (Trial Version can skip this step)

Basic Operation:

    • Windows 98
      • Enable the IR monitor.
      • Place the IR transmitter and receiver facing each other, start the IR function of the phone.
    • Windows 2000
      • Place the IR transmitter and receiver facing each other, start the IR function of the phone.
      • The wireless link function is triggered.
• Execute Nok Commander 8000
• from Start|Programs|Nok Commander 8000, or by running Nokiacmd.exe
• When the IR monitor finds the phone, please consult Operation.
• Before running Nok Commander
• Terminate any other program that uses the same serial port.
• I.e.: IR monitor, NDS, 3com Palm driver, ... etc.
• Connecting the hardware(IR or cable)

• The status bar on the bottom of the window will display the most recent status, to clear it just double click on it
• There are no constraints in most part of the program I.e.:
• Data length
• Only the information within the length limit will be saved. (Please consult the phone's manual for length limit)
• Phone book position
• Information will not be saved if it exceeds the position limit of the phone. Thought you can set any number you wish
• Type of phone book

• You can only set "cellular phone " or "SIM card". You can set any.
• Only the "cellular phone" can save UNICODE characters

• Remove the IR device: Control Panel->Network->IR, (Don't restart the machine after removing the device).

• After restarting the machine, Windows 98 will automatically install the IR device as a serial port. Windows 98 will loose the capability to use the IR device as a network device.
• To restore it, please remove the IR device and overwrite msports.inf with the backup copy (msports.inf.bak) and restart the machine.
• No response after command?
• Possibly caused by a bad transmission medium
• If you are using IR please be sure to set up correctly and remove possible interference.
• If you are using cable please try first to change the parameters of the COM port
• If it's caused by instabilities of the COM port at high speeds
• Please adjust the configuration of the serial port of the OS
• Not registered or registration error(Trial version doesn't require registration)
• Please check if the IMEI and Registration code have been entered correctly. Check the Installation.

• The program tries to recover from transmission errors automatically.
